This is a lesson from my LC319/LC313 class. The lesson adopts the culturally responsive teaching practice and the "what-so what-now what" model to engage learners from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds in in-depth discussion of the topic national stereotypes. Students discussed the topic after reading an award winning comic book. The jigsaw reading activity encourages learners to exchange information and practice narrating stories in a meaningful context.
The learning experiences are designed around standards-based content and language learning objectives. Learners can develop their oral and written communication in three modes by completing the tasks stated in the lesson plan.
