Project based language learning

These two project based language learning samples are selected from my LC319/LC313 class and LC420 class. The first one is a country e-portfolio project. It is in consistence with with the sociocultural theory, constructivist theory and cultural exploration theory. It follows ACTFL’s intercultural can-do statements: helping learners explain diversity among products and practices and how it relates to perspectives, and hopefully suspend stereotyping judgement or assumptions on a foreign culture.

The second one is a documentary film project. Students will be able to practice using Chinese to discuss social problems related to the digital age in oral and written communication, develop critical thinking ability and research skills and learn to use various digital media effectively.
